17th-century church of a former Benedictine convent, by Pietro De Marino, with stucco by Giovan Battista Broggia; currently closed.

The community of nuns of San Potito has very ancient origins, linked to Bishop Severus in the 4th century, but the church we see today was begun in 1615, when the nuns left their seat on Via Anticaglia. The project was entrusted to Pietro De Marino, who designed the austere façade with a large Serlian opening, above which was the nuns' choir. The spacious single-nave interior was enriched in the late 18th century with stucco work by Giovan Battista Broggia, while the presbytery features an altar in polychrome marble and canvases by Niccolò De Simone and Giacinto Diano. The church is currently closed: we suggest admiring its façade from outside while strolling around the area.
