Eucharistic sanctuary of San Pietro a Patierno, linked to the miracle of the hosts found intact in 1772.

In piazza Guarino, in the San Pietro a Patierno district, stands the church raised to diocesan eucharistic sanctuary by Cardinal Ursi in 1972, for the bicentenary of a miraculous event. In 1772 some consecrated hosts, stolen from the church, were found some time later intact beneath manure, amid mysterious lights. The event was also examined by the famous physician Domenico Cotugno. The memory of the miracle is still very much alive in the district.
