Late 13th-century Gothic church on via Tribunali, next to the historic music Conservatory; ceiling with canvases by Mattia Preti.

On via Tribunali, near piazza Bellini, stands San Pietro a Majella, a Gothic church built at the end of the 13th century at the behest of Charles II of Anjou and Giovanni Pipino da Barletta, dedicated to Pope Celestine V, Pietro da Morrone.Since 1826 the monastery next door has housed the Conservatory of Music, one of the most prestigious in Italy: passing by, you can often hear the students playing. Inside the church, let's look up at the ceiling, with Mattia Preti's canvases of the saint's life.
