Church in the Real Bosco di Capodimonte designed by Ferdinando Sanfelice in 1745; reopened in 2021 with a fit-out by Santiago Calatrava.

Strolling through the Real Bosco di Capodimonte we come across the church of San Gennaro, commissioned by King Charles of Bourbon in 1745 for the people who lived and worked in the park. The design is by Ferdinando Sanfelice: a sober façade and a bright oval interior.Closed since 1969, in 2021 it reopened with a new fit-out by the architect Santiago Calatrava, and that same year it returned to worship. A surprising stop during a visit to the park and museum.
