Neoclassical church near piazza Vanvitelli, founded in 1884 for the growing Vomero and designed by Luigi Bottino.

A stone's throw from piazza Vanvitelli, the heart of the Vomero, stands the church of San Gennaro. It was founded in 1884, when the district was growing and the old Arenella church was no longer enough; it was King Umberto I who allowed the creation of four new parishes, including this one.The purely neoclassical building is the work of Luigi Bottino. It was restored after the earthquakes of 1930 and 1980 and remains one of the district's landmarks.
