Capuchin church at Mergellina built by Filippo Botta between 1875 and 1879, with an eclectic façade and three-aisled interior.

Along corso Vittorio Emanuele, above Mergellina, stands the church of the Immacolata Concezione, known as San Francesco d'Assisi. It was built between 1875 and 1879 to a design by Filippo Botta for the Capuchin friars. The eclectic façade has mullioned windows, small hanging arches and niches with statues of the Immacolata and Saint Francis. Inside, with three aisles, we find many paintings, some older than the church itself.
