13th-century church in the oldest part of Laurito, with a Gothic chapel frescoed in the late 15th century.

In the oldest part of Laurito, below the main street, the Church of San Filippo d'Agira is documented from the 13th century, and a plaque outside dates its construction to 1273. The single-nave hall is very simple and incorporates a raised Gothic chapel. The real treasure is the chapel's frescoes, dated to the last quarter of the 15th century: below, the twelve apostles with the Madonna del Latte (Nursing Madonna) at the centre; above, episodes from the New Testament. We love their freshness; we suggest giving them the time they deserve, one of the small hidden masterpieces of Cilento.
