Late 16th-century Dominican church in Barra, with a façade attributed to Francesco Solimena, who is buried here.

Along corso Sirena, in Barra, stands the church of San Domenico, also called Santa Maria della Sanità. It was born with the convent founded in 1584 as a dependency of the Dominicans of the Sanità in Naples; work began in 1588.In the 17th and 18th centuries the church was heavily remodelled; the façade is attributed to Francesco Solimena, the great painter, who was buried here in 1747. A good reason to discover the eastern part of Naples, rich in historic villas and churches.
