Church of 1621 on via Foria that gave its name to the district, built on the "sandy" road where water from the hills ran down.

On via Foria, just before piazza Cavour, stands the church that gave its name to the whole district. "All'Arena" recalls the old sandy road where rainwater running down from the hills, the so-called Lava dei Vergini, deposited debris. It was built to a design by Giuseppe Nuvolo in front of the old Aragonese walls and completed by the Cistercians in 1621. During the French decade it was also used as a military shelter.
