A 17th-century chapel in the cloister of San Lorenzo Maggiore, seat of an archconfraternity founded in 1623, with the Glory of Saint Anthony.

In 1623 an archconfraternity dedicated to Saint Anthony of Padua was founded, which at first met inside the great church of San Lorenzo Maggiore. Later the Franciscan friars granted it a space of its own in the convent cloister, where the chapel still stands today. The piece we like most is the painting of the Glory of Saint Anthony, attributed to Filippo Vitale and Pacecco De Rosa, two 17th-century Neapolitan painters. The chapel can be visited on request: we recommend asking to see it when exploring the San Lorenzo complex, between the basilica, the museum and the excavations.
