The two surviving towers of the Aragonese castle that defended the eastern side of Naples.

The Castello del Carmine stood near Piazza Mercato and the Basilica del Carmine, defending the city from the sea side. It was enlarged by the Aragonese in the 15th century. In 1647 it was at the centre of Masaniello's revolt. The castle was demolished between the late 19th and early 20th centuries to make way for new roads; two towers remain, the Spinella and the Brava, along Via Marina.
