The former pleasure house of Michele Imperiali, scene of aristocratic parties such as the famous New Year's ball of 1814 in honour of the Murats.

Strolling along Via Chiatamone you notice an imposing façade, now darkened by time: it is hard to imagine that here stood a pleasure house of the Neapolitan aristocracy, the setting for memorable evenings and wild parties. We like stopping in front of this building and letting our imagination run free.On the evening of 31 December 1814, in the grove that then surrounded the casino, the Princess of Wales Caroline of Brunswick held a ball in honour of the sovereigns Joachim and Caroline Murat, who were her hosts. It is said that the party lasted until dawn and that the princess herself appeared in a tableau vivant dressed as Parthenope. We recommend admiring it from outside.
