A prehistory museum at Castel dell'Ovo, born from the research of cavers and naturalists in the caves of Campania.

The museum was founded in the 1960s thanks to cavers, geologists and naturalists who knew the area in depth. At the end of that decade, finds in the caves of Nardantuono, Castelcivita, Ausino and Capaccio shifted attention to prehistory. The first display cases were set up in 1972 in the Maschio Angioino; since 1984 the museum has been housed in Castel dell'Ovo. The Region lists it as open on request: we recommend contacting it beforehand and combining the visit with a stroll along the seafront.
