Business tourism: how a Campanian venue can attract meetings and corporate events

Business tourism has one precious feature for anyone working in hospitality: it does not depend on summer. Meetings, conventions, incentives and company dinners are concentrated mainly in spring and autumn, on weekdays, exactly when many venues in Campania have free rooms and meeting spaces. In this in-depth article, written for hotels, villas, historic residences, wineries, farm stays and operators in Campania, we look at what event planners want and how to present yourself the right way.

Who organises and what they look for

Corporate events come through three main channels: companies themselves (HR, marketing, management), event agencies and DMCs organising on behalf of clients, and professional and scientific associations. Before asking for a quote, all of them want to understand a few things within minutes:

  • Capacity: how many people in theatre style, classroom style, at round tables, standing for an aperitif.
  • Accessibility: distance from Naples airport, the high-speed rail stations of Naples and Salerno, motorway exits, parking, shuttle options.
  • Technical equipment: reliable internet, projector or screen, sound system, microphones, natural light and the option to black out the room.
  • Rooms: how many you have, or how many properties nearby can host the group.
  • Catering: coffee breaks, light lunches, gala dinners, menus for food intolerances.
  • Exclusivity: the option to book the whole venue or a separate area.

Your advantage: the territory

You can find a meeting room anywhere. What makes Campania unique is everything around it: the sea of the Sorrento Peninsula and the Amalfi Coast, the archaeology of Pompeii, Herculaneum and Paestum, the Royal Palace of Caserta, the wines of Irpinia and Sannio, the food. Planners increasingly look for experiences to pair with work: a private tour, a pizza-making class, a wine tasting at a winery, a boat trip. If you can offer them, even together with local guides and operators, your proposal becomes much stronger.

How to prepare a clear offer

  1. A downloadable fact sheet: floor plans, capacities by layout, equipment, photos of the rooms both empty and set up.
  2. Day packages: for example "half day" and "full day" with room, coffee break and lunch, with an indicative price per person.
  3. Ready-made experience proposals, with duration and minimum number of participants.
  4. A single contact person who replies quickly: planners compare several venues and reward speed.
  5. Clear terms on deposits, cancellations and guaranteed minimum numbers.

Networking pays off

Many venues in Campania are small. For a group of 80 people you may need a hotel for the rooms, a villa for the gala dinner and a winery for the afternoon activity. Agreements with other properties and local suppliers (transfers, catering, audio-video services, guides) let you handle requests you could not manage on your own.

Getting found

Planners search online, often starting from the destination. That is why it matters to appear in the right places with complete information: capacities, photos, services and an easy way to request a quote. On Turismo Campano we list the region's conference venues, event locations and villas and historic residences, and we feature them in our guide Meetings and business travel in Campania.

Do you have a meeting room, a villa or a venue suited to corporate events? With the Event location package your listing gets a gallery, capacities, services and a quote request form that reaches you directly.
