Historic Centre of Forio
Vicoli medievali nati attorno alla chiesa di San Vito, difesi verso il mare dal Torrione e cresciuti fino alla punta del Soccorso.
Museum · Forio (NA)

Forio's symbol is an old tower that hosts temporary exhibitions and a permanent display devoted to the artist Giovanni Maltese.
The Torrione is Forio's main museum and one of the most important on the island of Ischia. It is housed inside an old tower, divided into two rooms one above the other, and we like climbing inside to discover how a defensive building has become a place of culture. The lower room hosts changing exhibitions and events devoted to artists from the island and beyond. On the upper floor, instead, is the permanent display dedicated to Giovanni Maltese, a painter, sculptor and poet closely tied to Forio. We recommend including the visit in a walk through the historic centre.
