A Mediterranean and subtropical garden created in Forio by Susana Walton and designed by Russell Page.

The La Mortella Gardens were created in the 1950s in Forio by Susana Walton, wife of the English composer William Walton, to a design by the landscape architect Russell Page. They have been open to the public since 1991.We love the thousands of rare and exotic plants set among rocks, fountains, pools and streams: it is considered one of the most beautiful gardens in Italy. The garden opens in spring and summer, so we recommend checking the season before you set off.
