17th-century hermitage on the hill of Baiano, with a chapel, bell tower, hermits' quarters and a garden on stone arches.

On the hill that bears its name, this hermitage began with the church of 1615, designed from the outset for those who chose a solitary life. The chapel and bell tower connect with the living quarters and the vegetable garden, the hermits' only resource together with alms, which can be admired from a viewpoint on superimposed stone arches. The almost rectangular chapel retains much of its original layout: cornices and pilasters on the walls, a semi-elliptical masonry altar and two side altars with niches. The first restoration dates from the 18th century, perhaps urged by St Alphonsus Liguori, while the latest works were completed in 2008. We love the peace you feel up here.
