A cave along the Amalfi coast road at Tordigliano, closed by a masonry façade and overlooking a small bay.

The Grotta Acquata, also called the freshwater cave, lies along the Amalfi coast road (Strada Statale Amalfitana), at Tordigliano, on the southern side of the peninsula. You come across it after passing Punta San Gennaro heading towards Positano, on a scenic stretch of hairpin bends and old disused limestone quarries.Below the road opens a small south-facing bay, with the Scaricatojo beach and those of Tordigliano. The cave entrance is closed by a wooden door and a masonry façade with four openings protected by grilles. It is currently not accessible: we recommend enjoying it from outside, together with the panorama of the coast.
