Citara is a long sandy beach south of Forio, on the west coast of Ischia, closed off by Punta Imperatore. The name comes from an ancient cult of Venus Cytherea.Hot thermal waters rise in the area, feeding pools and thermal parks. At sunset the sun goes down straight into the sea in front of the beach: it is one of the loveliest moments on the island.
