Church of San Vito Martire in Tortorella
- Visit: about 20 min

Church just outside the village, already in use in the 15th century, with a square that is a meeting place and a painting of the saint.
Just outside the village of Tortorella, the church of San Vito Martire has ancient roots: it was already open for worship in the 15th century, while the present building was built between the 17th and 18th centuries. Its square has always been a meeting point for the community, and the saint's feast is celebrated with great participation. After restoration the church has regained its splendour and is also appreciated by those who love the surrounding nature. Inside we recommend looking for the painting by Gaetano D'Angelo portraying St Vitus with his homeland and the stained-glass window with the Crucifixion above the saint's niche.
