The Castle of Santa Maria la Nova was built from 1457 at the behest of Raimondo Orsini, on the hill in the middle of the Tramonti valley.Thirteen of its sixteen towers survive, along with the walls and the chapel. Since the 19th century the castle has housed the municipal cemetery.
