A castle turned into a palace by the Carafa family in the 15th century, guarding the road between Avellino and Benevento, now abandoned.

Carafa Castle stands in a strategic position, guarding the road between Avellino and Benevento. In the 15th century the Carafa family turned it into a lordly palace with a trapezoidal plan, flanked by two side towers.We like the arched sandstone doorway and the façade with six symmetrical large windows. Today it is abandoned and not open to visitors: we suggest admiring it from outside.
