A palace from 1735 that became the Bourbons' summer residence, with a large pine forest planted on the Arso lava flow.

This palace was built in 1735 at the wish of Onofrio Buonocore and, after the Neapolitan revolution of 1799, passed to the Bourbons. Ferdinand IV made it his summer residence for hunting, fishing and spa treatments, taking advantage of the springs that abound in the area. We like imagining the court on holiday on the island. It was Ferdinand II who had the expanse of lava left by the Arso eruption covered with a large pine forest, enriched with rare plants that came also from the Botanical Garden of Naples. After the end of the dynasty, the estate went through a period of decline and became a spa establishment for the military. We recommend a walk in the nearby pine forest.
