In the Aragonese Castle of Ischia, a European collection of blades and firearms, armour and unsettling instruments of torture.

Inside the Aragonese Castle of Ischia this museum displays a collection of weapons from all over Europe: halberds, swords, daggers, axes, a spiked ball, inlaid sabres, rifles and pistols, as well as a suit of armour and a catapult. We like how the visit adds a touch of military history to the tour of the castle. One room is devoted to instruments of torture: the objects on display include a spiked bust, a finger crusher, a Spanish garrotte, a cage, a guillotine and chastity belts. It is a strong display, which we advise you to consider carefully if you are visiting the castle with young children.
