Old stone bridge in the heart of Piaggine, one of four medieval bridges spanning the River Calore in Cilento.
In the middle of Piaggine, the medieval bridge spans the River Calore and has joined the two parts of the village for centuries. It is one of four medieval bridges crossing the Calore within the Cilento National Park, together with those of Felitto, Laurino and Magliano.We like pausing on the bridge to listen to the flowing water and look at the stone houses facing the river, in one of the village's most characteristic views. We suggest continuing along the banks of the Calore, where the landscape of the Alburni Mountains and Monte Cervati offers chances for peaceful walks in nature.
