Hermitage at about 1,200 metres on Monte Pentime, linked to the tradition of St Mennas the hermit and founded around 975.

Among the mountains, on a slope of Monte Pentime at about 1,200 metres, stands the hermitage of San Menna, where tradition says the hermit saint lived in voluntary exile. It was originally probably a larger, busier place of worship, built around 975 at the wish of two noblemen from Tocco. It depended on the monastery of Santa Sofia in Benevento. In the 17th century a papal edict ordered the closure of small monasteries, but here the saint's annual feast kept the place alive, and after the 1688 earthquake it was restored in a smaller form. We like climbing up on foot, enjoying the silence of the mountain.
