A Bourbon church from 1856 overlooking Ischia's harbour, born together with the harbour itself.
Right in front of the pier, facing the statue of the Redeemer, we find Santa Maria di Portosalvo. It was inaugurated in 1856: the foundation stone had been laid two years earlier, at the very moment the harbour was opened.The church was part of a Bourbon project to develop the island, together with the harbour and the road linking Forio, Lacco Ameno and Casamicciola. We love its classical-style columns: we recommend stopping by as soon as you land.
