On Saturday 13 February Caserta's Teatro Comunale Costantino Parravano offers one of the most interesting musical evenings of the season: Raiz, the historic voice of Almamegretta, takes the stage with the Solis String Quartet in Chi tene 'o mare.
The title quotes one of Pino Daniele's best-loved songs and sets the course: the sea as a place of departures, landings and cross-pollination, a theme that has always run through Raiz's career, between dub, Neapolitan song and Mediterranean sounds. The Solis String Quartet, a Neapolitan string quartet used to moving between classical, jazz and popular music, dresses that deep, unmistakable voice in refined and intimate arrangements.
We recommend it to anyone who loves the less predictable side of Naples' music, the one that looks to the Mediterranean. The season is organised by the city of Caserta with Teatro Pubblico Campano.
