From 12 to 14 March Caserta's Teatro Comunale Costantino Parravano stages one of the great plays of the twentieth century: Long Day's Journey into Night by Eugene O'Neill, directed by Gabriele Lavia, who also stars alongside Federica Di Martino.
Over a single summer day, in the Tyrone family's seaside house, an actor father, a fragile mother and two restless sons confront each other amid resentment, addiction and a love that cannot save them. It is O'Neill's most autobiographical play, awarded the Pulitzer after his death. Also on stage are Jacopo Venturiero, Ian Gualdani and Beatrice Ceccherini, performed in Italian in Bruno Fonzi's translation, adapted by Chiara De Marchi.
We recommend it to lovers of great drama: with Lavia it is always an intense experience. The season is run by the city with Teatro Pubblico Campano.
