Between Naples and Portici, right on the bay, the Pietrarsa National Railway Museum hosts the eighth edition of the Naples Christmas Markets. Wooden stalls line the gallery between the 19th-century pavilions of the old Bourbon workshops, with craftspeople, Campanian producers and a street-food area.
The best part is that the visit includes the museum: around 55 historic railway vehicles and the huge «Trecentotreni» model railway. On many evenings there are street artists, street bands, musicals and gospel choirs, and children can enjoy activities such as writing a letter to Father Christmas.
We suggest checking the calendar on the official website: there are closing days (including Christmas and New Year's Day) and days with shorter hours.
