In Casali, a hamlet of Faicchio at the foot of the Matese mountains, the living nativity celebrates its 25th edition. For four evenings the historic «Porti» quarter becomes the Bethlehem of two thousand years ago, with costumed performers, scenes of daily life and old trades brought back to life.

It is organised by the Ave Gratia Plena parish, which involves the whole community in preparing the scenes every year. The walk through the stone lanes blends faith and tradition, and children love it too.

We suggest dressing warmly and wearing comfortable shoes. The parish will announce the times closer to the event, so check them before you set off.
