Now in its 31st edition, the Annurca Apple Festival brings to the old town of Valle di Maddaloni Campania's signature apple, picked while still unripe and left to redden in the sun on traditional straw beds. We recommend it to anyone keen to discover a unique product just a short drive from Caserta and its Royal Palace.
Stalls offer sweet and savoury specialities made with Annurca apples, alongside exhibitions, crafts and live shows in the squares. The festival is run by the Pro Loco Valle with the support of the Campania Region and the town council.
Our tip: buy a few kilos straight from the growers; they keep for a long time and make a perfect gift.
