Many couples travel far for their honeymoon. We think Campania can offer a dream honeymoon without hours of flying: sea, islands, art cities, great food and time to enjoy it all. Here is how we imagine it.
Why Campania
- Variety: in a few days you move from the sea of the Amalfi Coast to the islands, from Naples to the vineyard hills.
- A long season: from May to October the weather is ideal for the sea.
- Food and wine of the highest level, from fine dining to seaside trattorias.
A ten-day itinerary
Days 1-2: Naples. The historic centre, the seafront, pizza in the most authentic neighbourhoods and an evening in Posillipo overlooking the Gulf.
Days 3-5: Capri. A boat trip around the island, walks to the viewpoints, romantic dinners after the day-trippers have left.
Days 6-9: the Amalfi Coast. Base yourselves in Positano or Ravello; spend your days between Amalfi, Atrani and the coves reachable by boat.
Day 10: return via Pompeii, for a last dive into history.
Variations
- Sea and wellness: swap Capri for Ischia, with spas and gardens.
- Sea and vineyards: add two nights in Irpinia, among wineries and villages.
- Off the beaten track: Procida and Cilento, for a slower, more authentic honeymoon.
Practical tips
- Book early on the Amalfi Coast and in Capri: they are in high demand in summer.
- Travel by sea between Naples, Capri, Sorrento and the Amalfi Coast: it's easier and more beautiful.
- Mention your honeymoon: many properties prepare small surprises for newlyweds.
- Pack light: the villages of the Amalfi Coast are full of steps.
