In fact, Naples, the islands of the Gulf of Naples (Capri, Ischia and Procida), the Amalfi Coast and the Sorrento coast are among the most coveted destinations in Italy by the lovers of sunbathing, beautiful beaches and crystal clear sea.

As we read in this post explaining what to see and what to do in Sorrento, the small town is really very close to Naples, and as a result is easily accessible by sea, by car, by train and by bus.
But what do you do once you arrive in Sorrento? Is there only sea? What to eat and what to visit? Here are the questions that plague all those who decide to spend their holidays in the Sorrento coast.

Among the main monuments to visit in Sorrento you must absolutely see the cloister of St. Francis, Piazza Tasso, the Cathedral of Sorrento, the Villa Comunale, the Basilica of Sant'Antonino, and the Vallone dei Mulini.
Of course Sorrento has a lot more to offer, I advise you to spend a few hours at Marina Piccola and Marina Grande, two small fishing villages very characteristic. I personally found them lovely. All the monuments and places of interest are visited in a single day, but why live in a stressful way your holiday? It is not better to visit monuments and enjoy some moments of relaxation doing things characteristic.?

Among the things to do absolutely in Sorrento I recommend a walk to the main shopping street in Sorrento, Corso Italia, a street dotted with bars, ice cream parlours, restaurants and shops of all kinds. Of course, do not miss the boat ride, a day trip to Capri, enjoy a beautiful granita in the characteristic Piazzetta of Sorrento. As far as sports activities are concerned, know that there is only an embarrassment of choice: sport fishing, snorkeling, jetskis, canoes and so on and so forth.

But of course, we started this post describing Sorrento as a seaside resort and therefore it is obligatory to mention some beaches, at least the most popular. The sea in Sorrento is beautiful, blue, with rocky or sandy bottom.
The two main beaches are the Solara and the Baths of Regina Giovanna, but I guarantee that the options are really many.

The most beautiful thing in Sorrento? This city is practically an immense itinerary to do on foot, every distance is never prohibitive and above all walking in this place after the afternoon thirst is a real spectacle. Moreover, what not recently, spend your holidays in Sorrento will be the opportunity to visit the entire coast of Sorrento and Amalfi, namely places such as Ravello, Positano, Amalfi, Vico Equense, Massa Lubrense, Cetara, furore and Vietri Sul Mare.
